Solomon Boar nominated first Minister for North East Region

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bunkpurugu Constituency, Solomon Namliit Boar has been appointed as the first ever Minister [designate] for the newly created North East Region.

Mr Boar who is the outgoing Deputy Northern Regional Minister, was nominated by the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He will be assisted by one Tahiru Tia Ahmed, an educationist from Gambaga in the East Mamprusi District.

Before his appointment as Minister for the North East Region, Mr. Boar played a key role in ensuring peaceful and successful referendum leading to the creation of the new regions in the northern part of Ghana.

He is also noted for his matured and non-political role in assisting the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government in the implementation of the Dagbon peace roadmap which led to the performance of the final funeral rites of the two late Ya-Nas and the successful installation of a new King of Dagbon, Ya-Na Abukari Mahama.

Residents in the North East Region have expressed their gratitude to the President for nominating Solomon Boar as their first ever Minister.
They believe with his influence in NPP and in government, Mr Boar would be able to attract the needed development to the area. 

One Patience Nawang, a native of the area based in Tamale told WatchGhana.Com that Mr. Solomon Boar aside his humility and respect for all manner of persons, has the competence to turn the fortunes of the region around.

She was confident that with the right support from the Chiefs and people, Mr Boar would make the North East region very proud.
	

Profile of Hon. Solomon Namliit Boar

Mr. Solomon Boar was born on 15 July 1968 at Bunbuna in Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo District of the North East Region. He holds Executive Master in Business Administration from the Institute of Paralegal Training and Leadership Studies, Executive Master in Alternative Dispute Resolution from University of Cape Coast, Bachelor of Management Studies from GIMPA, Certificate in Budgeting and Financial Management, Tamale Technical University and Higher National Diploma in Secretaryship and Management studies. 


He became Member of Parliament for the Bunkpurugu Constituency in 2012 and won for the second time in 2016. Before becoming an MP, he was working as the Finance/Administrative Manager- NewEnergy (A non-governmental organization engaged in Water & Sanitation, Renewable Energy and Sustainable Livelihoods Services) and also served as a professional teacher at Kalpohin SHS in Tamale, Nabulo JSS, Sobellle JSS in Tumu and Nyohini Presby JSS in Tamale. 

In March 2017 Mr. Solomon Boar was appointed as the Deputy Minister for Northern Region and doubles as MP for Bunkpurugu. 
In the house of Parliament, he was appointed a member of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament and Works and Housing Committee of Parliament.

He has received several awards namely; Youth with Vision Synergy- Northern Region, MP of the Year 2018, award for love for Peace and Youth Empowerment Initiatives by Bimoba Students Union (BISU) and for Being an Outstanding Role Model to the youth
Mr. Solomon Boar is a Christian and married with five children.
