Sierra Leone High Commissioner visits Deputy Tourism Minister to discuss investment seminar

The Sierra Leone High Commissioner to Ghana, Mrs. Francess Virginia Anderson has announced plans by her country to organize Sierra Leone Investment Seminar in Ghana this year 2019 to promote investment opportunities in that country to Ghana and the rest of the world.
The event is expected to come off on Wednesday 27th March, 2019 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra.

The High Commissioner disclosed this when she paid a courtesy call on Ghana’s Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr. Ziblim Iddi to discuss about the upcoming event. 

She indicated that the Sierra Leone Investment Seminar is to explore trade and investment opportunities that Ghana and Sierra Leone could offer for the development of both countries. 
  
Mrs. Virginia Anderson who was accompanied by her Personal Assistant, Ms. Angelina Odametey said the courtesy call was necessary to highlight some of the priority sectors in Sierra Leone that required much investments and support such as education, health, sanitation, energy, mineral resources, tourism, agriculture, and the banking and finance sectors. 

The seminar the High Commissioner indicated would also serve as an opportunity for the private sector of Ghana to meet with the highest government authorities of Sierra Leone, identify and seize business opportunities and create partnerships with international and domestic private sector investors. 

Mrs. Virginia Anderson hinted that, the Sierra Leone Government under President Julius Maada Bio had initiated a lot of developmental programmes to help push not only for development of Sierra Leone but the rest of Africa and the world at large.

She used the opportunity to extolled Ghana’s democratic credentials and the sterling leadership of Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his unwavering commitment to turn the economic fortunes of Ghana around.

On his part, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr. Ziblim Iddi indicated that diplomacy in the 21st century has gone beyond wars amongst nations but rather an economic prospects of diplomacy that would advance the betterment of countries.
 
He commended the Sierra Leone Ambassador to Ghana Mrs Francess Virginia Anderson for her laudable quest in promoting her country’s business investment opportunities to Ghana and the rest of the world.


Hon. Dr. Zibblim Iddi assured the High Commissioner that the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture welcomes the initiative and would always support any endeavour that seeks to boost Tourism in the country.

Dr. Zibblim Iddi also took the opportunity to inform the Ambassador of his Ministry’s plan to organize a home coming event dubbed “THE YEAR OF RETURN”2019, which is seeking to bring home Ghanaians in the diaspora to know their roots. 

Present at the ceremony was the Chief Director of the Ministry, Alhaji Abudulai Yakubu, the Director of the Policy Planning Monitory and Evaluation (PPME) Mrs. Olivia Opoku Adoma, Mrs. Joyce Akpilaanya-Ajongbah, a Deputy Director and the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Alhassan Abubakar Sadik.
