Police arrest wanted "Hwaks" member "Akon"

Police in the Ashanti region have arrested 'Akon', one of the 12 pro-NDC vigilante group members "the Hawks" members who were declared wanted in connection with the shooting incident that took place at NDC office in Kumasi.

Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Godwin Ahianyo told the media at a press briefing that he was apprehended by some community members at Abrem and was sent to the Kenyasi police station.

He said the suspect was later transferred to the regional police headquarters but he was injured.

He said regional police commander, advised for him to be taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital for medical treatment.

ASP Ahianyo said after he is discharged, he will be brought back to the regional CID for the continuation of the case that led to the death of one Abdul Wasui Iddrisu.
