Minister receives support of Queen Mothers for successful tenure

Queen Mothers in the Kusaug Traditional Area and their women groups have pledged their unflinching support for the Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Paulina Patience Abayage in her avowed quest to bring the needed transformation and development to the area.
The Queen Mothers who expressed much confidence in the capabilities of Hon. Abatage to raising the standard of life of the men, women, youth and the children in the region, called for total support of all the people for the female Minister
Speaking at the first ever durbar of Queen Mothers and Women in the Kusaug Traditional Area comprising Bawku Municipality, Pusiga, Binduri and Bawku West Districts organized by the Minister, the Paramount Queen Mother of Kusaug Traditional Area, Pua-naba Alasbuudi I “said women by nature are uniquely positioned to contribute to the development of every society”.
She however regretted how women are not being valued in Ghanaian and African societies.
The Paramount Queen Mother who decried the numerous religious, political, economic and socio-cultural that fighting the smooth advancement of women, called for an end to child abuse, parental neglect, single motherhood, the practice of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), sexual abuse, and teenage pregnancy especially amongst school going girls.
Pua-naba Alasbuudi I assured the Minister of her personal support and the cooperation of the 25 Divisional and Sub-Divisional Queen mothers under her jurisdiction to work as a team in order to realise the socio-economic development of the Upper East Region.

This is the first of its kind a Minister of the region has brought together noble and influential women mainly queen mothers to solicit their views, opinion, advice and support for the development of the region. This initiative by Hon. Paulina Patience Abayage is also meant to instill confidence, amplify the voices of women and recognize their contributions to Ghana’s development. The Minister also assured to work with all the people in the region both male and female, irrespective of their religious, political or ethnic background. She appealed to the traditional leaders and the youth across the region to create a more peaceful and conducive environment that will attract the needed development from the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s government, and investors both local and international.
