Otiko Djaba wins another special award with Let’s Talk Ability TV show

The Executive Director of Henry Djaba Foundation, Otiko Afisah Djaba has received a special award from the Latter Day Saints in Accra.
The “Special Families Value Award” is in recognition of her remarkable contributions towards the promotion of the rights, inclusion and welfare of Persons Living With Disability (PWDs) in Ghana through her live TV show dubbed: “Let’s Talk Ability” on TV3.
The show, which is telecast on Sundays at 1:30pm creates the platform for the PWDs to meet with experienced personalities including Ministers of State, Parliamentarians, Lawyers, Diplomats, Technocrats and other persons with special expertise as well as some influential PWDs to discuss issues affecting their lives.
At a high profile ceremony organized by the Latter Day Saints to honour the former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection at the Physicians and Surgeons College in Accra, the church lauded Ms. Otiko Djaba, her Foundation and TV3 for inspiring hope and confidence in the PWDs to discover their potentials and contribute to national development.

A special citation inscribed on a plaque was presented to the Let’s Talk Ability host by His Royal Majesty Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona VI, King of Osu traditional area in the Greater Accra Region. The citation reads: “This is in recognition of your outstanding contribution in helping to strengthen families in Ghana through your programmes and activities, especially Let’s Talk Ability which has given hope and support to many parents with disabled children. We hope these children would urge you on to do more of such programmes to help build a stronger nation. God bless you!” Ms. Otiko Afisah Djaba was accompanied by some persons living with disability such as Pozzo Hayes, a Hi-life musician and member of Technical Committee of Henry Djaba Foundation, Mr. Joshua Addy Co- host of Let’s Talk Ability, Divine Apperty a physically challenged, Madam Cynthia physically challenged, and other production team members of Let’s Talk Ability including; Production Director, Abibata Mahama among others. She on behalf of Henry Djaba Foundation, Management of TV3 and her production team expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Latter Day Saints for recognizing their efforts of promoting and raising the voice of PWDs high in Ghana and Africa. She dedicated the award to all PWDs in Ghana and urged them to keep on hoping for a brighter future.
