It is believed that some top officers within the Ghana Police Service since the news about the retirement of the IGP Asante-Apeatu broke out had been lobbying for the IGP's position. Already, names like COP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, COP Ken Yeboah, COP George Alex Mensah and COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah have come up as the most favourite for the topmost position.
