Sanitation Minister finally meets 'faceless' multimedia intern; pose for friendly photos

Miss Rahinatu Abdul Bach, the 'faceless' Multimedia intern who was purportedly ‘mistreated and snubbed’ by the Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Cecelia Abena Dapaah for failing to properly identify herself during a telephone interview, has finally met with the Minister.

Miss Rahinatu together with some Management staff of Adom Fm visited the Minister to express regret for any disaffection or inconvenience the Minister might have suffered after the unfortunate encounter and the subsequent publication.

The young journalist who indicated her admiration for the Minister and considered her as her role model, regretted the incident and thus rendered an unqualified apology to Hon. Cecelia Abena Dapaah.

The Sanitation Minister who accepted the apology in good faith and indicated her preparedness to continue to work with all Journalists for the good of mother Ghana, offered a box of chocolate to Miss Rahinatu.

The young female journalist was accompanied by a strong delegation from the Multimedia Group led by Mr. A.C Ohene, the Senior Editor of Adom FM.

The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah has for the past one week been subjected to intense attacks from a section of the public and some media organisations following a recent Adom FM publication which attracted a lot of negative publicity for the Minister.

The Minister was alleged to have disrespected the young journalist on an account that she was an intern, and did not therefore qualify enough to interview her, a report the Minister and her Ministry have since denied.

However, the Multimedia Group [Management of Adom FM] together with Miss Rahinatu Abdul Bach has visited Hon. Cecelia Abena Dapaah in her office to formally render their profound apology to her.

The Leader of the Multimedia team, Mr. A.C. Ohene stated that the incident was quite unfortunate and an error on the part of Multimedia and Adom FM and wished to assure the Hon. Minister that utmost diligence and care would be observed to forestall any such occurrences in future.

He indicated that an apology had already been placed on their websites, Adom FM online and Joy FM online.

The Senior Editor reiterated that the Multimedia Group had learnt a lot of lessons from the unfortunate incident and would work hard to ensure a strict adherence to their time tested protocols.

The Acting Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Joseph Obeng-Poku, explained that at the time that the Minister received the call, he was with the Hon Minister in a meeting and that the Minister sounded cool and collected.

He expressed surprise that it would be reported that the Minister allegedly showed disrespect. This issue according to the Acting Chief Director was not about the lady being an intern, but rather about the due protocols being followed.

The Multimedia delegation included; Mr. A.C. Ohene, Senior Editor, Mr. Nii Dowuona News Editor and Rahinatu Abdul Bach, an intern.
