Dr. Susana Alo Tia files to contest Walewale NPP seat

The Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Sagre Bambangi's quest for another four years' term in Parliament is somewhat under serious challenge as five other key members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Walewale Constituency are contesting him for the single slot.

Latest to file her nomination to contest the MP in the upcoming parliamentary primaries is Dr. Susana Alo Tia, a famous development worker.

Dr. Susana after submitting her to party's executives in the constituency said she is fit to represent the NPP and the Walewale Constituency in parliament. She says the consistently low representation of women in governance of Ghana, especially Northern Ghana is what influenced her bold decision to offer herself to lead the people.

"If you look at the whole of Northern region, I'm talking of Northern region, North East region, Savannah region, Upper West region, Upper East region, it's sad to know that not even up to three women are MPs. we have Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama, the Local Government and Rural Development Minister who is also the MP for Nalerigu, we have one NDC MP for Pusiga, and that is all for the whole of Northern Ghana. For me it's a shame because God has given us the same abilities and qualities that could make us lead and lead better. As I speak, these two women are excelling when it comes to development, I mean there's no match. So I really believe that if given the chance to serve the people of Walewale Constituency, I'm going to contribute positively to the development of the youth, the women and every other person in the Constituency", Dr. Susana stated.

She said she is willing to serve the people of Walewale Constituency with humility and bring governance to their doorsteps in order to encourage social governance for the people if given the mandate to serve. She goes by a campaign slogan:  "Humble Leadership for Development; She Wins, We Win."

Dr. Susana is however assuring delegates of more job opportunities for them, if they repose their confidence in her to represent the party.

Dr. Susana Alo Tia is a native of Walewale, former Assembly member for the Wulugu electoral area, a development worker, women empowerment and gender advocate who seeks to represent the people of Walewale constituency if given the mandate to represent the NPP in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

It is confirmed that Dr. Susana Alo Tia is in this contest with five other contenders including the incumbent member of parliament for the Walewale Constituency.
