Jamie Vardy has not only written his name into Leicester City folklore with his 22 goals that have ensured that Leicester City are on the brink of winning the title, he has also gotten his name written into the hearts of a family, after a fan convinced his wife to name their child Vardy after getting 5000 Leicester city fans to sign an online petition. Leicester fan Ashley Marriott has managed to convince his partner to give their unborn child the middle name "Vardy" in tribute of the striker. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, Marriott said: "I've got a daughter on the way and we're naming her after Vardy as a middle name." He had to get 5,000 petition signatures in order to persuade the mum-to-be, something he achieved at a canter. "That was done weeks ago, it was well over 5,000 - so it's definitely on. Her and her family are all Spurs fans so it's good for me!""I wish [it was Jamie]. But I don't think with even half a million signatures she would agree to that, even though it's a unisex name!"
