UWR/Wa West districts major roads to be tarred this year

The Upper West regional minister, Hon. Suleman Alhassan has stated major roads within the Wa West district will be tarred  by before the end of this year.

The minister who was addressing celebrants of the Seontaa Boor festival of Vieri in the Wa West district last Monday mentioned the Wa-Dorimon-Wechiua road, Ga-Wechiua road, Lassia-Wechiua road and Dorimon -Dabo roads amongst others. 

The regional minister also explained the country and for that matter the Upper West region did not see any facelifts in the road sector in the past two years due to some loans the John Mahama government contracted.

He explained that the NDC government had contracted a loan at a compound interest of 30% which was to be paid in 25 years hence monies accrued for development rather had to finance such loans.

He explained that, the NPP government had to renegotiate the loan agreements to a 22% simple interest rate making the current agreement much better for our country which he explained would save the government enough money to develop other places including the Wa West district.

W FM's Dennis Salia reports the Seontaa Boor festival of of Dagara Wiile was well attended as rich cultural display created the euphoria amidst drumming and dancing with typical traditional display as Chiefs from other paramountcy graced the occasions in Vieri last Monday.
