WatchGhana ("WatchGhana", "we", "us") is operated by InnInk Limited. This policy explains what information we collect across watchghana.com and its subdomains (admin, api, business, travel, jobs, elections), and the WatchGhana and Travel Ghana mobile apps, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. If you register a reader account (on the website or in either app) we collect your name, email address, a hashed password, and, if you choose to add one, a profile photo. Signing in through one app also signs you into the other, since both share the same account system.

Content you post. Reviews, ratings, check-ins, comments, photos, pledges, incident reports, story submissions and marketplace listings you submit are stored against your account and may be shown publicly on the relevant page.

Contact and inquiry information. If you use a contact form, "share your experience" form, or business/marketplace inquiry, we collect what you submit (name, email, phone, and message) to respond to you.

Technical and usage information. Like most websites and apps, we automatically log standard technical data (IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP) through Google Analytics, and use a device push-notification token if you enable notifications in the mobile apps.

Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure site usage. Advertising partners (below) may set their own cookies or device identifiers.

How we use this information

• To provide and personalize the news, tourism, business, jobs, elections and civic features you use.
• To let you register, sign in, and manage content you've posted.
• To respond to messages you send us.
• To measure and improve site/app performance and content.
• To show advertising, including ads personalized using data collected by our advertising partners.
• To send push notifications you've opted into (e.g. activity on content you posted).
• To detect abuse and keep the platform safe, including reCAPTCHA verification on certain forms.

Advertising and analytics partners

We use Google AdSense (website) and Google AdMob (Travel Ghana app) to show ads, and Google Analytics to understand site usage. These Google services may use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites/apps, and may collect data as described in Google's Privacy Policy. You can manage ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, and opt out of personalized ads in supported regions there.

We also use Google reCAPTCHA to protect forms from abuse, which is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with: service providers who help us run the platform (hosting, analytics, advertising, notifications) under obligations to protect it; other users, where you've chosen to post something publicly (a review, comment, check-in or listing); and authorities, where required by law.

Data retention

We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time (see "Your choices" below).

Your choices

• You can review and edit your profile information from within the WatchGhana or Travel Ghana app, or the website.
• You can turn off push notifications in your device settings.
• You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data by contacting us (below).

Children's privacy

WatchGhana is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted transport (HTTPS). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
