Bolin-lana pledges support for new Ya Na

Bolin-lana Mahamadu Abdulai has congratulated the newly nominated Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama II, after selection processes by the kingmakers of Dagbon and due consultation of oracles in line with Dagbon customs and tradition.

The Regent of the late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV in a statement after an announcement of Na Abukari's nomination said: "On my own behalf and on behalf of the Royal Abudu Family of Dagbon, I wish to congratulate my grandfather, Na Alhaji Abukari Mahama following his selection by the kingmakers of Dagbon as the new Ya Na".

The Bolin-lana further assured the new Ya Na of his unflinching support and loyalty as he stated that "so long as he leads us, when he looks back, he will see me".

The Bolin-lana and the Abudus have hailed the selection of Ya Na Abukari Mahama II even though he hails from the Andani faction. The Abudus have pledged for peace and expressed no opposition even though their candidate was not chosen as the new Ya Na.

Yo Na Abukari Mahama II was selected on Friday after the Andani royal family ended the funeral rites of the late Ya Na Abdulai Yakubu Andani II.

The Abudu royal family few weeks ago also performed the funeral of Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai IV in line with the peace roadmap presented by the committee of eminent Chiefs led by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

BOLIN-LANA CONGRATULATES YO NA ABUKARI MAHAMA AS YA NA

On my own behalf and on behalf of the Royal Abudu Family of Dagbon, I wish to congratulate my grandfather, Na Alhaji Abukari Mahama following his selection by the kingmakers of Dagbon as the new Ya Na.

I wish to indicate my unflinching support and loyalty to the new Ya Na and to assure him that, so long as he leads us, when he looks back, he will see me.

In accordance with the best traditions of Dagbon, I have already sent a high-powered delegation from the Abudu Royal family led by the Regent of Tolon, Major Sulemana Abukari, Regent of Diare and Mba Dugu Iddrisu Iddi to formally congratulate the new Ya Na.

It is our prayer that the Almighty Allah will grant him the wisdom to lead and unite Dagbon as we enter into a new dawn of reconciliation, friendship, brotherliness and unity.
