Girl, 17, arrested for attempting to sacrifice 15-year-old cousin

A 17-year-old girl in Koforidua in the Eastern region has been arrested after she attempted to use her 15-year-old cousin for money rituals.

Elizabeth accompanied by her two little siblings â€“ 13 and 10 â€“ took Daniel, their cousin to Sunyani to allegedly sacrifice him in other to make money.

The girl reportedly picked the contact of the spiritualist during a television program on a TV channel on Multi TV.

Starr Newsâ€™ Eastern regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah, reported that despite the spiritualistâ€™s decision to reject the sacrifice, Elizabeth was persistent and begged him to use her cousin for the rituals.

Daniel, narrating his ordeal to Kojo Ansah, said they alighted at a station in Sunyani and slept at a Guest House till the next day when they were directed to the shrine of the spiritualist known as Black Akasha.

According to Daniel, his cousin deceived him into thinking that they had been sent on an errand by Elizabethâ€™s mother.

â€œThe spiritualist told her that I cannot be used for the sacrifice but my sister kept begging the spiritualist to use me. She actually knelt down to beg but her pleas were rejected by the spiritualist.

â€œShe had different colours of candles and an amount of Ghc550 for the ritualsâ€¦when we returned her mother asked me not to tell anyone about what had happened and told me to state that I went to see my aunty.

The Effiduase Police based on their intelligence found out about the incident and arrested Elizabeth who is helping with investigations.
