NDC to boycott Ayawaso by-election-Ofosu Ampofo

The National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has hinted that the party is considering boycotting the by-election in Ayawaso West Wuogon following shooting, injury and assault of some supporters of the NDC by some armed masked â€˜militaryâ€™ men. 

Six persons are confirmed injured by the NDC Chairman and rushed to the 37 military hospital for medical attention. 

The NDC leadership claim their Parliamentary candidate, Kwasi Delali Brempong was targeted by those men but the timely intervention of the police saved the situation. Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo insisted that several of their supporters are assaulted as well.  

Meanwhile, unconfirmed report indicates two persons believed to be sympathizers of the opposition National Democratic Congress have been shot.

This follows an alleged clash between some military personnel and supporters of the NDC at La Bawaleshie. The soldiers who are fully armed and wearing face masks allegedly descended heavily on some supporters of the NDC for misbehavior. Several robber bullets were fired.
