Felicia Tettey declares intention to lead Sagnarigu NPP in 2020

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Sagnarigu, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini will face an uphill task in retaining his seat for another term as one of the most popular businesswomen and politician in the area, Mrs. Felicia Konaah Tettey is seriously lacing her boots to contest the seat on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020.

Mrs. Felicia Tettey who is the 2nd Northern Regional Vice Chairperson of the NPP and also the current Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme WatchGhana.Com has learnt has agreed to put herself up for the NPP Parliamentary primaries in the Sagnarigu Constituency when nominations are opened. 

Her decision to contest as Member of Parliament in 2020 is believed to have been influenced by numerous calls on her by some top NPP officials and grassroot members in line with the party’s search for a more credible, marketable and influential candidate to take over the Sagnarigu seat from the NDC.   

Already, the Sagnarigu seat looks quite unsafe for the NDC following series of attacks on the incumbent MP, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini by some discontented youth within the constituency who have been accusing him of only speaking needless proverbs in parliament instead of bringing development to the constituency.

However, Mrs. Felicia Tetteh in an interview with a sister online portal, The Voiceless Media, confirmed her intention to represent the people of Sagnarigu in parliament come 2020.

The Chief Executive Officer of the luxurious Tacorabama Restaurant in the Sagnarigu Constituency explained that she grew up in the area and therefore knew the developmental challenges of the people. 

She promised to present herself for the internal party primaries with the aim of representing the Sagnarigu constituency in Parliament.

According to Mrs. Felicia Tettey, contesting for the position of a Vice Chairperson of the NPP and serving in that position has given her the understanding of party mobilisation and organisation which she would bring to bear to enhance the chances of the NPP in the Sagnarigu constituency.

"I am a professional fundraiser and will therefore be able to raise the necessary funds and logistics to execute a competitive campaign in 2020 for the NPP in the constituency”.

She appealed to the delegates of the Sagnarigu constituency to give her their mandate when the time comes.

Mrs. Felicia Tettey, it must be noted, has been engaged with NPP activities during her school days as TESCON member at the Tamale Polytechnic, during which time she was actively involved in the organisation of the party. 

She was both a member of the Northern Region 2016 NPP campaign team and also a member of the Fundraising Committee in the Region.

She has also been supportive of the activities of the party in the Constituency and Region and it is hoped that when elected as the Parliamentary Candidate of the NPP for the Sagnarigu Constituency,  she will be able to effect a creditable campaign in the constituency.

Some of the Constituency Executives who the VOICELESS MEDIA spoke with were very pleased of her intention to contest the Primaries in the Sagnarigu constituency and pledged to give her their fullest support to take over from Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini who they say was performing well in speaking proverbs than bringing development to the constituency.
