Group picks form for Salifu Dumba to contest NDC primaries in Nadowli/Kaleo

A group calling itself Sons and Daughters of Salifu Dumba has picked nomination forms compulsorily for the former Upper West Regional Commissioner of CEPS to contest the Nadowli/Kaleo Parliamentary primaries on the ticket of the opposition NDC.
Salifu Dumba, the group described as a “very honest” and ''already made man” would work to develop the Nadowli Kaleo constituency if given the chance.
They further explained that Mr. Dumba has shown his readiness in developing the party in the constituency. Issac Baningen, leader of the group disclosed that the group members contributed monies to pick the forms for their preferred candidate.
"He has worked for the unity of the party after he even lost the elections in twenty 2015" the leader added.
The NDC opened nominations for the election of Parliamentary candidate ahead of the 2020 general elections. All party offices in the Upper West Region where open to receive interested aspirants.
The Nadowli/Kaleo constituency is likely to miss the face of Hon. Alban S.K. Bagbin on the ballot paper since he took the mantle of
Parliament in 1993. He is the longest serving MP and would end a 28 years reign in the year 2020.
Hon. Bagbin has faced stiff opposition within the NDC party in the constituency ruining his bid to contest the primaries this time.
Several pressure groups within the party have threatened to campaign against him if even he wins the primaries. Some groups have also called on the MP to contest but indications are much glaring he has thrown in the towel.
In 2015, Hon. Bagbin was contested by Salifu Dumba and one Roger Galle (late) in the primaries but he won to represent his party in the general elections.
Some other aspirants who picked forms in the Nadowli/Kaleo constituency include Martin Lucas Nyuni Kombanpuo, David Jawara and one Thony. Several other candidates are expected to pick forms by close of today.
