Abdul Mujeeb Kele joins NPP parliamentary candidate primaries

Parliamentary candidate aspirant of the NPP, Abdul Mujeb Kele has (PC) once again joined the race to lead the party in the DBI constituency of the Upper West Region.

Mujeb Kele who is a lawyer at the National Health Insurance Scheme contested in the last primaries and lost to Lawyer Luanga Bagonluri in 2014.

He joins four other members of the party awaiting vetting by the party. The vetting is scheduled for 10th to 15th of August.

Five number aspirants successfully filed nominations to contest in the party's parliamentary primaries in the constituency last Saturday 3rd August.

The aspirants who are well known party activists are also described as “heavy weights” by the party secretary in a statement issued to the media.

The aspirants includes the MCE of the assembly, Hon. Imoro Sandaa. He was an engineer prior to his appointment by the president.
Dr. Elias Sory is a retiree and former Director General of the Ghana Health Service under the erstwhile NPP government. He is said to be the regional chairman’s favorite candidate as they are said to be direct cousins.
Former Assembly member and Statistician, Hon Kannyiri D Yakubu is also in the race to lead the NPP in the 2020 parliamentary election.
Felix Naah is reported to be a Chartered Accountant with the Security and Exchange Commission in Accra.
The party delegates are expected to elect the parliamentary candidate on the 24th of September to contest the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament Hon. Dr. Sebastian Sandaari.


The DBI constituency since it’s inception has been a constant parliamentary ticket for the NDC in Parliament.
In 2016 Dr. Sandare worn the elections with over three thousand votes margin which would demand the NPP elect a candidate that would be able to match the dynamics of the consticonstituency.
