The Electoral Commission of Ghana has announced 17th December as the date for the referendum of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs).
Speaking at the launch of the CSO Coalition on the National Referendum and Election of MMDCEs in Accra, the Director of Electoral Services at the EC, Dr Serebour Quaicoe said the change of the date for the election from 10th December to 17 December 2019 was as a result of legal action which was taken against the commission by some individuals.
He said the commission was going to announce the changes anytime soon to the public but used the opportunity of the program to announced it.
