Stop Branding Relief Items With Your Campaign Photos; It's Cheap! Ken Agyapong Slams Mahama, MPs

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has descended heavily on Former President John Dramani Mahama and most of his colleague Members of Parliament for reducing the serious fight against the deadly Coronavirus (COVID-19) to cheap politics.

According to the outspoken business mogul, it is very shameful and cheap for MPs from both NPP and NDC and other persons like Mr. Mahama to go about campaigning and branding relief items and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) they donated to the needy communities in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic with their campaign photos.

Speaking in an interview on his privately owned TV station, NET2, in Accra, Ken Agyapong said he expected Mr. Mahama, leader of the opposition party NDC and the MPs to see the COVID-19 fight as a serious national issue that required the collective efforts of all, but not for them to want to take undue political advantage of it.

“What politicians are doing will not help this country; you see people splashing their pictures on Veronica buckets; you will see President Mahama walk around doing cheap politics. I was surprised when I heard the very decent Rawlings’ daughter also making cheap political allegations over the sharing of food”.

Urging Mr. Mahama and the MPs to stop being cheap and rather focus on helping the country from pure hearts, the Asin Central MP said “I wouldn’t have brought my donations to the limelight, but if I don’t, people will say in future that I make empty noise without doing anything to help the country”.

He is on records to have made the largest individual donation towards the fight against COVID-19 in Ghana.
