Upper East Regional Minister Registers For New Voter’s ID

The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Tangoba Abayage has successfully registered for the ongoing mass voter registration exercise to enable her exercise her franchise come December 2020.

She registered at the Nambasiani Day Nursery Registration Centre in the Navrongo Central Constituency, where she won as the Parliamentary Candidate on the ticket of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The Regional Minister was highly impressed about the measures put in place by the Electoral Commission (EC) at the registration centres to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

In supporting the work of the EC, Hon. Tangoba distributed new nose marks to all the registration officials and the prospective voters.

She however urged the Navrongo Central NPP Constituency Executives to work assiduously to increase the electoral fortunes of the party in the up-coming general elections.

The Regional Minister also pleaded with the Security personal and other party loyalists to police the unproved routes and prevent foreigner from the neighboring Burkina Faso from registering in the on-going mass registration.

The Parliamentary Candidate said that there had been reports that some Burkinabes were entering the constituency and registering in the on-going voter registration exercise in order to vote in Ghana’s general election on December 7.

Hon. Tangoba also used the opportunity to visit some registration centers in the Navrongo Central and Paga-Chiana Constituencies to assess for herself how the exercise was progressing.

At the Nabio Primary School Registration Center, Hon. Tangoba was not enthused about the social distance protocols as some people were had refused to observe the COVID-19 protocols.
