The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has officially sworn-in new town council and assembly members into the Bantama Sub-Metropolitan Assembly.
The Mayor of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Hon. Osei Assibey who led the inauguration urged the new members to serve the people and the assembly with all their hearts to ensure accelerated development, transparency and accountability.
Hon. Assibey appealed to them to ensure the overriding interest of the people and the state above their individual interest.
In all, Eight (8) Assembly members and Ten (10) Town Council members were sworn in to ensure the smooth operationalization of the assembly.
The Mayor indicated that all the (5) five sub-metros are inaugurating their new members except Manhyia sub metro which had a peculiar issue that needed to be solved before.
The Administrator of the Sub-Metro, Mr. Oliver Opoku expressed happiness for the new members, describing them as a solid team that would help in addressing the challenges facing the sub-metro.
He requested that the contractor working on the Bantama sub-metro office complex came back to complete the office to ensure its full function.

Mr. Opoku appealed for adequate resources to properly manage the sanitation challenges facing the sub-metro.
The Police Commander for Sofoline, DSP Akwasi Yeboah who also oversees the activities of Bantama pleaded with the new Assembly members to help provide vital information to the police whenever necessary to ensure strong collaboration and good working environment.
He appealed to the business communities in the sub-metro to be wary of thieves and armed robbers.
Adding that much informations should be given to our business woman and Men in our communities to be careful in discussion issues of monies outside since we live with thieves and armed robbers in order to prevent attacks on their homes and shops.
The new elected Chairman of the Bantama sub-Metro, Hon. Frank Caleb Boateng a.k.a Coach thanked his fellow Assembly members for reposing their trust in him.
Hon Boateng promised to help promote good sanitation and put proper measures in collection of revenue.
The chairman for the town council Hon. Isaac K Acheampong added he will see to it that a lot of durbars will be held in the communities to give information about every department of the sub metro.
According to him most of the people do not know the importance of paying revenue, keeping their homes neat and preventing of disasters among others.
