Samira Bawumia Urges Upper East To Vote Nana Addo For More Development

The Second Lady, Samira Bawumia has urged the people of Upper East Region to massively vote for the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for in the December 7 general elections to enable him to continue his flagship policies and infrastructural development projects ongoing in the Region.

She told the people to honestly compare the massive human development programmes and physical infrastructural projects under President Akufo-Addo within the last four years with the abysmally poor performance of the former President, John Dramani Mahama in eight years.

The 2nd Lady who was in the region to campaign for the NPP emphasized that the people of Upper East Region on December 7, must think about themselves, their future, their children’s future and give President Akuffo-Addo and the NPP Parliamentarian Candidates massive votes to accomplish the on-going development projects to transform the lives of residents in the region.

“We are voting for free education, free textbooks, no school fees; our children must just batch, go and sit down to receive education.  By the grace of God, children who complete the free SHS will go to University free of charge”, She reiterated.

Mrs. Samira Bawumia added that the flagship policies such as planting for Food and Jobs, One-Village One-Dam, the restored Teacher and Nursing Training Allowances would be improved upon to better the lots of the trainees as well as the NABCO programme to give more jobs to the young ones who would complete the free University policy.

The Second Lady described the Akufo-Addo’s government as a caring one because of the flagship policies that are empowering women to take care of themselves and their children adding that the next term of the NPP government, tertiary students would not need guarantors to secure the students’ loan. They would only need their Ghana Card to get the loan easily.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Tangoba Abayage said President Akufo-Addo has embarked on a systematic and pragmatic ambitious development agenda which is  touching life in every nook and cranny of this country, the NPP fraternity now raised  the shoulder high anytime they are on campaign trip.

She said the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) eight years could not touch the life of Ghanaians as Akufo-Addo in less than four years has done adding that in 2016, when the NDC knew they were leaving power, President Mahama went and cut sod at Tono Irrigation Dam site explaining that sod cutting alone doesn’t translate into project but under President Akufo-Addo the dam is being rehabilitated which has never been done in the forty years history of the dam.

Hon. Abayage again noted that  in the history of Navrongo, the Navrongo-Naago Road did not go beyond the entrance of St. John BOSCO Training College but under the currently government the entire stretch has been awarded on contract at the cost of GH¢50 million also  under One-Constituency One-Million Dollars initiative, the longest water project at the cost of $ 8m is under construction in six districts to serve over 200,000 people in the region and the   ultra- modern sports stadium is almost at the completion stage  to help unearth the talent of the youth in the constituency.

The Regional Minister who is also the NPP Aspiring Candidate for Navrongo Central Constituency, therefore, appealed to the constituents to give the President Akufo-Addo another four years to do more and vote for her also to push for the massive projects on-going in the constituency in order to transform the life of the people.

The Paramount chief of Navrongo Traditional Area, Navron-Pio Pe Dennis Balinia Adda Asagapare II thanked the current NPP administration for the massive developments projects on-going in the constituency and praised the regional Minister for  lobbing to install the first ever traffic light in the area which according to him has drastically reduced the motor accidents on the road.

He, however, pleaded with the Regional Minister to inform the President to ensure that the ultra-modern theatre facility meant for Navrongo War Memorial Hospital sod is cut before the 7 December general elections which he described as his passion for the area.
