The Deputy Minister for Sanitation, Hon Amidu Issahaku Chinnia has described the recent call by the Ghana Integrity Initiative demanding his removal from office as "strange".
The call follows the alleged awarding of some contracts to his brother and others during his time as the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister.
Speaking to the media in Accra, Hon Chinnia explained that he can not be blamed in a matter involving his brother's registered company and other people who are business men biding for lawful businesses in Ghana or in Upper West Region.
"The company won the said contracts under reference through competitive tender"
Hon Chinnia added "It is only natural that the company be treated as a seperate legal entity which has nothing to do with me"
He indicated that he was neither a share holder nor Director of his brother's company; and sees the calls for his dismissal or investigations by the Ghana Intergrity Initiative as misdirected and abuse of their core mandate.
The Deputy Minister who is also the Member of Parliament for the Sisala East constituency of the Upper West Region, has therefore called on his constituents to disregard the calculated mischief and ochestration against his person saying that he was unperturbed and any investigations would vindicate him.
Hon Amidu Issahaku Chinnia used the media opportunity to indicate that he was available for any investigations to prove his innocence and added that he was strong, hearty and cheerful.
