Police Arrest Three in Connection with Sampa Chieftaincy Dispute

The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested three young men in connection with offences linked to the violent chieftaincy dispute at Sampa in the Jaman North Municipality.

The suspects, identified as Alhassan Issah, also known as Crack, 25, Luis Kwame Antwi, alias Erikay, 24, and Yussif Ahmed, alias Plus 2, were picked up from their hideouts following an intelligence-led undercover operation by the police.

According to a police statement signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command, the operation was carried out on November 4, 2025, at different locations within Sampa. Several accomplices connected to the disturbances are currently on the run.

The suspects were subsequently arraigned before the Sunyani District Court B on November 5, 2025, where they were charged with conspiracy to commit crime, causing damage, assault, and stealing.

The presiding judge, His Worship Eric Danning Esq., remanded the three into police custody to reappear in court on November 10, 2025, to assist with ongoing investigations.

Police say efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the disturbances to ensure peace and order in the area.
