Ato Forson’s Bold Budget Offers Ghanaians a Renewed Promise of Jobs, Stability and Growth – Seidu Agongo

An Accra-based businessman and entrepreneur, Seidu Agongo has lauded the 2026 Budget presented by the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, describing it as one of the most promising economic blueprints in recent years and a strong signal of renewed hope for Ghanaians.

In a statement issued to the media, Mr. Agongo said the budget represents “a decisive shift toward pragmatic recovery measures and a clear commitment to restoring confidence in the Ghanaian economy.” He noted that after several years of economic strain, high unemployment, and weakened private-sector performance, the measures announced by the Finance Minister offer a realistic pathway to stability, job creation and long-term national growth.

According to Mr. Agongo, the Minister’s emphasis on fiscal discipline and targeted investments demonstrates a deliberate effort to place the economy on a more sustainable footing. He welcomed the renewed focus on agriculture, local industry expansion and value addition-sectors he believes are crucial for reducing import dependency and boosting local production.

He highlighted the budget’s youth-centered initiatives, particularly in skills development, entrepreneurship support and job creation, as one of the strongest indications that the government is seeking to empower young people with practical opportunities rather than temporary relief measures. Mr. Agongo added that such interventions, when implemented effectively, could stimulate productivity, reduce unemployment and strengthen Ghana’s competitiveness.

The businessman further commended Dr. Ato Forson for outlining clear social protection strategies aimed at supporting vulnerable households. He said these provisions reflect the government’s awareness of the daily economic difficulties faced by many families and demonstrate a responsible approach to national recovery.

Mr. Agongo also encouraged Ghanaians to show collective support toward the budget’s implementation, stressing that national development requires collaboration between policymakers, the private sector and citizens. He urged authorities to ensure strict monitoring mechanisms, transparency and accountability so that the promises outlined in the budget translate into measurable improvements in people’s lives.

He concluded by expressing strong optimism that the 2026 Budget could mark a turning point for Ghana if all stakeholders remain committed to its goals, noting that the combination of discipline, vision and inclusive growth strategies offers genuine hope for a more resilient and prosperous economy.
