Renowned businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Seidu Agongo, has donated beverages and prayer materials to the Muslim students of Accra Academy Senior High School as part of efforts to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.
The gesture, which formed part of activities to mark the sacred fasting period, was aimed at encouraging the students to remain steadfast in their spiritual devotion while promoting the values of compassion, generosity and community solidarity that define Ramadan.
Speaking during the presentation, Alhaji Agongo noted that Ramadan is not only a time for fasting but also a period for reflection, kindness and renewed commitment to humanity.
“As a Muslim from humble beginnings, I have always believed that life finds its true meaning when we live not only for ourselves but also for others,” he said.
He explained that supporting young people during the sacred month is important because they represent the future of the Muslim community and society at large.
Quoting from the Holy Qur’an, he reminded the students that generosity attracts divine blessings and rewards, citing the verse which likens charity to a seed that grows and multiplies many times over.
He also referred to the teaching of the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, who said that the best people are those who are most beneficial to others.
According to him, the donation may be modest, but it reflects a core Islamic principle that giving is not merely an act of charity but an expression of faith, brotherhood and gratitude to Allah.
The Muslim students who received the items expressed appreciation for the support and prayed for Allah’s continued blessings upon the philanthropist Alhaji Seidu Agongo for remembering them during the sacred period.
